Exploring the subterranean landscape of Hyrule is one of the most intriguing aspects of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Camera Work In The Depths quest serves as your official gateway to this dark realm while unlocking the essential Camera capability on the Purah Pad. Completing this mission allows players to start filling out the Hyrule Compendium and progress further into main story storylines.

Starting the Quest at Lookout Landing

Before initiating this mission, players must unlock the Paraglider and receive the Regional Phenomena quest from Purah. Head to the lower area beneath Purah's setup in Lookout Landing to speak with Josha and Robbie. After a quick conversation, you will receive Brightbloom Seeds and arrows to help illuminate your journey into the pitch-black abyss.

Descending Into Hyrule Field Chasm

Your first objective is to locate the Hyrule Field Chasm situated just south of Lookout Landing. Dive into the glowing red opening and deploy your paraglider to ensure a safe landing at the bottom. Upon landing, speak with the survey team member named Ponnick to learn that Robbie has already ventured ahead into the darkness.

Tracking Robbie and Activating Lightroots

To safely navigate through the pitch-black environment, throw Brightbloom Seeds or attach them to arrows to light up your path. Head west toward distant campfire glows, making sure to avoid pools of Gloom that reduce your maximum hearts. Continue along the path until you discover Robbie waiting near the Iayusus Lightroot. Activate the Lightroot to illuminate the area and restore your health.

Taking the Photograph and Claiming Rewards

Once you interact with Robbie at the Lightroot, he unlocks the Camera ability on Link's Purah Pad. Aim the Camera at the mysterious statue with a raised arm standing near the cliff until the label appears, then take a photo. Fast travel back to Lookout Landing, show the picture to Josha, and claim your reward of five Zonaite pieces to finish the quest.
